Copernicus Sentinel-2 Mission Orbits and Tiles for Cabo Verde

The Copernicus Sentinel-2 Mission satellite constellation comprises two polar-orbiting satellites in the same sun-synchronous orbit, 180° apart. Each orbit has a swath width of 290 km and a revisit interval of 10 days, meaning five days when considering both satellites. Each Sentinel-2 product is a complete or partial 110 x 110 km tile, defined in the UTM/WGS84 projection using a 100 km grid.

Cabo Verde is covered by three orbits (023, 066 and 109), two UTM/WGS84 zones (26 and 27) and thirteen tiles (26PQB, 26PRB to 26PRD, 26QPD and 26QPE, 26QQD and 26QQE, 27PTS and 27PTT, 27PUT, 27QTU and 27QUU). Due to the combination of orbits and tiles, there are 18 distinct granules with data in total.

IMPORTANT REMARK: The GeoPackage contains two distinct grid levels:
1. Tiles
The first, shown in red, consists of tiles subdivided between those belonging to UTM Zone 26N and those belonging to UTM Zone 27N.
2. Relative Orbit/Tile Combinations
The second, shown in orange, consists of combinations of tiles and the orbital tracks followed by the satellites of the Sentinel-2 constellation. These combinations provide a detailed representation of the areas of both emerged land and ocean covered by Sentinel-2 products.
